Renovation of a mixed-use development in La Mesa, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Governing Board of the Grossmont Union High School District (District) is inviting prequalified contractors with prequalified subcontractors to submit sealed bids for the construction project described below (Project). Helix Bleacher Replacement Project Bids must be delivered to and received by the District at the location specified above as the place for submitting bids not later than the date and time specified below, at which time the District will publicly open and read all bids. Any bid received by the District after the Bid Deadline shall be returned to the bidder unopened. Replace the Visitor side bleachers at the Helix Football Stadium. This includes improvements to adjacent site work and associated ADA upgrades. Bids must be submitted on the Bid Form provided by the District and included in the bid documents. Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to this Notice Inviting Bids, the Instructions for Bidders, and other Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Except as provided in Public Contract Code Section 5100 et seq., no bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the opening of the bids. DVBE: This bid is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. District is required to have 3% percentage each year. Bidder must provide a DVBE prime or subcontractor at 3% or complete the Good Faith Efforts package. Construction Manager will place a DVBE ad. All paperwork is due at time of bid. REQUIRED BID SECURITY: Each bid must be submitted with security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum bid amount as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract, if awarded to the bidder, and will provide the performance and payment bonds, insurance certificates and other documents described in the Contract Documents. Such security must be in one of the following forms: (1) a cashiers check made payable to the District; (2) a certified check made payable to the District; or (3) a bond made payable to the District in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. Any bond must have been issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120 REQUIRED CONTRACTOR LICENSE: The class(es) of California contractors license(s) required in order to bid on and perform the contract for this Project is: B PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: The successful bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond and a separate payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount. The forms of the bonds are set forth in the Contract Documents and all bonds must be issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. Based on review of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Insurance Rate Map ([FIRM], FEMA, 2012) that includes the southern portion of the Helix High School campus, the site and immediatesurrounding areas are mapped as minimal flood hazard zones (Zone X). Accordingly, the potential for flooding of the site is considered low.
