MWA 2018 SPLOST Remove and Replacement Package Sealed Bids for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the installation of 2018 Macon-Bibb SPLOST Storm Water Improvements Group 2) Removal and Replacement Project All bid questions must be submitted to the Engineer by 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. The Project consists of demolition, construction, and restoration activities required to rehabilitate the existing storm drainage systems at twelve (12) distinct project areas: 1. Buckingham Place 2. 1461 Lone Oak Drive 3. 2550 Saratoga Drive 4. 2772 Portland Place 6. 2760 Walnut Creek Drive 7. 3673 Overlook Drive 8. 3001 Tiffin Circle 10. King Alfred Drive 11. Northwoods Plaza Drive 14. Crisp Street 16. 1201 Seventh Street 24. 1551 North Atwood Drive The work consists of: Erosion control items Utility items, including utility company coordination; + 180 LF 8" sanitary sewer main relocation; temporary water main relocation Pipe rehabilitation of existing corrugated metal pipes, including joint grouting; + 35 LF of invert paving; + 790 SF of centrifugally cast concrete pipe lining repair New and/or replacement construction, including + 1,512 LF of RCP (15" -to- 108"); + 104 LF of concrete arch pipe (various sizes); + 16 drainage structures (drop inlets, storm drainage manholes); + 16 concrete headwalls / wing walls / aprons Surface repair, including + 520 LF of concrete curb and gutter; + 1,300 TN of GAB, + 250 TN of RAC; + 1300 SY of concrete pavement; + 350 SY of concrete driveway Miscellaneous items The Project will be awarded in one Contract. Fifty-one percent (51%) of the Work under the Contract Documents must be self-performed by the General Contractor. The Project will be awarded by base bid plus selected alternates on a lump sum, fixed price basis for the performance and completion of all Work required by the Contract Documents. The Contract Documents include, but may not be limited to, the Instructions to Bidders, the Contract Agreement, the General Conditions, the Drawings, the Specifications and the forms of Bid Bond (if applicable), Performance Bond (if applicable), and Payment Bond (if applicable). These and any other Contract Documents may be examined at the following location: Engineering Division Macon Water Authority 790 Second Street Macon, GA 31202-0108 If the bid amount exceeds $25,000, the Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Bid, prepared on the form of Bid Bond that is part of the Contract Documents, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570. Bidders must comply with the Minority Participation Requirements specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The Bidder shall affix to the outside of its Bid envelope the Bidder's Georgia Utility Contractor License Number. A license number of a Utility Manager or a subcontractor is insufficient, and any Bid that fails to affix to the outside of its Bid envelope the Bidder's Georgia Utility Contractor License Number may be rejected. The successful Bidder for this Project shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, satisfactory to the Owner and the Agent, each in the amount of 100 % of the Contract Price, if the Contract Price will exceed $25,000. Employment of Local Businesses and Contractors: It is the desire of the Owner that local businesses, including minorities and disadvantaged subcontractors, be given the opportunity to participate on the various parts of the Work. The Owner's encouragement of participation of minority and locally owned businesses and contractors is not intended to restrict or limit competitive bidding or to increase the cost of the Work. The Owner supports a healthy, free market system that seeks to include responsible local businesses and provide ample opportunities for local business growth and development. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and technicalities.
