The work consists principally of providing bonds, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the property clearing and material hauling from the Alabama State Port Authority's (ASPA) Broad Street VAD-4 property located in Mobile, Alabama. The work performed under this Contract may vary but will predominantly consist of activities such as tree clearing, brush cutting, excavation, and material hauling. Each bidder shall satisfy oneself as to the character, quality, and quantities of work to be performed, and as to the requirements of the proposed contract. The submission of a proposal shall be proof that the bidding Contractor has made such examination and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered in performing the work and as to the requirements of the proposed Contract. All bidding Contractors must hold a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama with one or more of the following classifications being H/RR: Heavy & Railroad Construction, H/RR-S: Earthwork, HS-S: Earthwork, MU-S: Clearing & Grubbing, MU-S: Site Work, MU-S: Debris Removal, SC: Clearing & Site Restoration, or D: Demolition. The Contractor has until September 30, 2019 to complete the project. If overtime is deemed necessary than it shall be included in the Schedule of Prices. The Contractor shall pay liquidated damages as outlined in Division IV, Section 20-13, of the Specification Booklet for each day over the project deadline. A Guarantee will be required with each bid as follows: At least five (5%) percent of the amount bid, but in no event more than Ten Thousand ($10,000) Dollars, shall be furnished in the form of a certified check or bid bond payable to the Alabama State Port Authority. A Performance Bond in an amount not less than the sum bid will be required at the signing of the contract and, in addition, a bond in an amount not less than One Hundred (100%) percent of the contract price, insuring payment of all labor and material. The right is reserved, as the interest of the Alabama State Port Authority may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in bids received.
