Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Newtown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Newtown Board of Education (heretofore known as Board) is seeking to engage a company to perform Sidewalk and curb repairs at Newtown High School, Newtown Middle School, and the Board of Education Warehouse. The contract will cover all aspects of the work from assessment to completion and final acceptance of work. he Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals if it deems such to be in the best interest of the Town of Newtown. PROJECT OVERVIEW The purpose of this document is to address the repairs and/or replacement required to existing sidewalk and curbs at Newtown High School, Newtown Middle School, and the Central Office Distribution Warehouse. 3. SCOPE The scope of work of this project shall be described in this RFP, and in detail at the mandatory walk through. The selected company will handle all aspects of the project, including, but not limited to, scheduling, budgeting, installation, and close-out of work and will demonstrate the ability to do so. All work shall be done consistent with all applicable federal, state and local statutes, regulations, and ordinances, and the Contract Documents. Assess, repair and install the following: o Concrete and/or asphalt sidewalks and driveways o Concrete curbs o Concrete Stairs o Concrete Ramps Contractor shall provide services, as necessary, for demolition, removal of existing asphalt and/or concrete, sire preparation including placement of gravel subbase, compaction, forming and finishing concrete and asphalt sidewalks/driveways, ADA warning strips (where applicable) work around any existing catch basins and manhole covers. All repairs must meet ADA regulations, unless otherwise directed by the Board. Contractor shall be responsible for any damage due to construction. Any damage caused by the contractor must be reapired within seven (7) to ten (10) working days at the expense of the contractor. Contractor will need to make sure that all trees, shrubs and signs are protected and not damaged during construction
