Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Dover, Delaware. Completed plans call for the construction of a 100,000-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The overall work consists of two very similar projects with two Phases. Phase 1 is design and Phase 2 is construction. The project to begin first is the design and construction of a new Sussex County Family Court on the southeast corner of E. Market Street and S. Race Street in Georgetown, DE. Subsequent to the Sussex County project design start date will be the design and construction of a new Kent County Family Court on the northeast corner of S. Governors Avenue and W. Water Street in Dover, DE. Each proposed Court will be approximately 100,000 sf and three stories. Each Court will provide services to replace those provided by the existing Family Court buildings in each respective county. The functions of each existing Family Court building will be moved to the respective new building, and there will be no renovation of the existing Family Court buildings as part of these projects. An architectural/engineering consultant has been contracted for the design of each project. The initial space study has been conducted for each project, as well as schematic lay-outs, and these are currently being confirmed. A parking study is also being conducted at each location. The Kent County site is located at the Dover Gas Light Superfund Site, which will require coordination with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). No other information is available concerning this project. Questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to dfm_ask@state.de.us by Friday, January 8, 2021. Responses will be posted by Friday, January 15, 2021, The Division of Facilities Management reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and waive any requirements of this RFP.
