The project includes: Rehabilitation of the existing 150,000 gallon spherical elevated storage tank located at 209 Tomlinson Street, Florence, Texas. Bidders will be required to inform themselves of all Addenda duly issued. Information regarding the number of Addenda that have been duly issued can be obtained from the above office. A cashiers check, certified check, or acceptable Bid Bond, payable to the order of the City of Florence, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the total Base Bid must accompany each Bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the Contract, the Bidder will promptly enter into the Contract and execute forms contained in the Project Documents within 30 days after the Notice of Award. Bonds shall be executed on appropriate forms and shall specifically provide for Performance and Payment Bonds and shall be in an amount of 100 percent of the Contract price from a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas and acceptable to the City of Florence. If the contract amount is less than $50,000, the County may elect to waive the performance and payment bonds requirement provided the selected contractor agree to satisfactorily work and request payment upon the acceptance of the work by the County. Any request for payment will be required to provide affidavits of clean lien from all general and subcontractors and material providers involved with the contract. If bonds are required, it shall be necessary that the Contractor increase the face amount of the Bond to equal each net increase, if any, in the original Contract price. The City of Florence reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and any nonconforming Bid and to award the Contract in a period of time not exceeding 60 days from the Bid opening date. Bids shall remain firm for that period. The City of Florence hereby notifies all Bidders that, in regard to any agreement entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded equal opportunities to submit Bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, religion, or national origin in consideration for an award.
