Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Huntsville, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a 60,000-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility.

Madison County, Alabama (the Owner) is seeking sealed bids for construction of a new Service Center located at the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, Alabama. The Project is a two-story building, approximately 60,000 square feet, consisting of metal stud and cast-in-place walls, with brick masonry, cast stone, and EIFS veneer. Second floor construction and roof framing will be steel joists and trusses with a TPO roof system. A cashiers check or bid bond payable to the Madison County Commission in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany each bid. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Other sets for prime contractors, subcontractors, vendors or dealers may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above. Only contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid the Project. Written pre-qualification procedures and criteria are available from the office of CSA, 305 Church St SW, Suite 805, Huntsville, AL or by e-mailing acorey@chapmansisson.com The following subcontractors are required to be pre-qualified: The contractor or sub-contractor submitting for pre-qualification should only submit for their primary trade of work. Masonry Subcontractor, Roofing Subcontractor, Mechanical Subcontractor, Plumbing Subcontractor, Electrical Subcontractor, Elevator Subcontractor, Fire Suppression Subcontractor. Only subcontractors for these disciplines, who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner, will be eligible to bid the Project. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be considered; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the bid is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. All documents submitted to the Owner will be subject to Alabama's Open Records Laws. Due to the provisions of the Open Records Laws and the Competitive Bid Laws, the Owner cannot assure any Bidder that any information submitted with the bid, even though marked Proprietary or Confidential, will not be open to public inspection and copying. Nonresident bidders must accompany any written bid documents with a written opinion of an attorney at law licensed to practice law in such nonresident bidders state of domicile, as to the preferences, if any or none, granted by the law of that state to its own business entities whose principal places of business are in that state in the letting of any or all public contracts. CSA will have the approved list of Prime Contractors and Subcontractors by July 26, 2019. Shortlist Confirmed.
