The Town of Falmouth Public Works seeks qualified contractors to provide full depth excavation and gravel installation of the road shoulders on Blackstrap Road between Mountain Road and the Compact Line. Excavate existing shoulders on both sides of road and install MDOT Type D (703.06) gravel 15" deep and 3' wide. The estimated volume of gravel to be installed is 1,225 CY. o The road shoulder shall be constructed 3' wide on both sides from the existing edge of pavement. The town intends to widen the existing pavement from an existing width of approximately 23' to a new proposed pavement width of 28'. The new gravel shoulder will allow 6" on each side for pavement support. o The Town intends to reclaim the existing pavement and install new pavement on Blackstrap Road under a separate contract. The reclaim/paving work will be scheduled upon completion of this project within the 2019 calendar year. Location: Blackstrap Road from Mountain Road to Compact Line, approximately 4,400LF (both sides).
