This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Huntersville, North Carolina. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The Town of Huntersville is accepting Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from consulting firms to provide professional services to develop a system-wide Parks and Recreation Master Plan (Master Plan). The Master Plan should create a roadmap for ensuring an appropriate balance of facilities and amenities throughout the community for the next ten years. The current Master Plan was adopted in 2011. The Town of Huntersville is seeking a system-wide approach to evaluating parks, recreation, open space, trails, facilities, and amenities in order to develop goals, policies, guidelines and achievable strategies. The Master Plan will be used as a resource for future development and redevelopment of the Town parks and recreational facilities, as well as be a resource to enhance tourism in Huntersville. The goal is to have the Master Plan completed and approved within a 12 month period. The Town of Huntersville has a strong commitment to provide high quality parks, recreation programs and facilities for citizens and guests of the community. Huntersville has twenty-three parks and recreation facility sites that include nine joint use sites with local schools, and the Huntersville Recreation Center, which is a 24,000 square foot indoor facility that contains a double gymnasium. The Parks and Recreation Department operates nineteen outdoor tennis courts, twenty-five baseball/softball fields, sixteen soccer fields, nine picnic shelters, thirteen playgrounds, six outdoor basketball courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, amphitheater, mountain bike trails and numerous hiking/walking trails. The Town of Huntersville contains just over sixty-four square miles and is the northern suburb of the City of Charlotte, located to the east of Lake Norman. Huntersville has an estimated population of just over 66,000 residents, which is an increase of more than 16,000 residents since 2010. The projected population of the Huntersville by 2030 is just over 84,000 residents. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
