Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Baltimore, Maryland. Design plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; road / highway; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; bridge / tunnel; and bridge / tunnel.
As of January 2023, the project is in design and final plans are expected to go to Baltimore's Planning Commission for review and formal adoption in February 2023. Grants have been received for the first phase of the project, which will be a series of man-made wetlands to help protect from rising water levels. Information regarding the general contractor and the method of selection has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been established. This will be an expansive 11-mile green ring featuring piers, boardwalks, and structures for a fixed array of community uses. A community-centric development embellished with activator sites, pavilions and project icons borders the parkland. A future phase of the design reimagines the iconic Hanover Street Bridge as a park which completes parkland ring and connects people from all walks of life to each other and to the Middle Branch. *For more information, please refer to www.middlebranchwaterfront.com
