Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Palm Springs, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

**As of October 2, 2019, this project has not yet been awarded. It is expected to be awarded tonight. The Work comprises reconstruction and overlay of approximately 3,000,000 square feet inclusive of 112 street segments in various locations throughout the City of Palm Springs including: recording, preservation and resetting of existing and new survey monuments; pulverization of existing asphalt concrete pavement; full depth milling of existing asphalt concrete pavement; unclassified excavation (export); preparation of subgrade; asphalt concrete paving; adjustment of sewer manholes and water valves to grade; removal and replacement or installation of concrete curb ramps, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and parking areas; construction of new cross gutters; concrete pavement; traffic striping, and markings; construction of a new masonry retaining wall and stucco; and all other appurtenant work. The work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of 180 Working days. The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive,responsible bidder,on the basis of the Base Lump Sum Bid Schedule,and reject all other bids,as it may best serve the interest of the City.Deductive Bid Schedules are provided for the Citys benefit and are not considered in determining the lowest responsive bidder. Bidders are required to complete and submit a bid on all Bid Schedules.The City reserves the right to award a contract inclusive of one or more of the Deductive Bid Schedules, in the best interests of the City. As a condition of award, the successful bidder will be required to submit payment and performance bonds and insurance. As a condition of award or after April 1, 2015, the contractor and any subcontractor listed on the bid must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price payable to the City of Palm Springs. The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 120 calendar days from the date of bid opening. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C12 Contractor license at the time of submitting bids. The Contractor shall pay the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California for the locality where the work is to be performed. All contractors and subcontractors must furnish electronic certified payroll records directly to the Labor Commissioner (via the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement) as further described in Article 5 of the Construction Contract (Mutual Obligations). The Contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payments due under the Contract Documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The Citys Public Integrity Ordinance, codified in Chapter 2.60 of the municipal code, reflects the Citys interest in ensuring that companies (and other legal entities that are not natural people) doing business in the community are transparent and make disclosure as to their ownership and management, and further that those companies disclose the identity of any person, with an beneficial ownership interest of five percent (5%) or more.
