Base Bid: Alteration and Addition to an Existing Building 8,115 square foot high bay single story building. Existing building is constructed of pre-engineered metal building structure with masonry and gypsum board framed interior walls and standing seam metal roof. Addition is an approximately 3,465 square foot single story building. Work includes General, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Telecommunications, Electrical Security Systems and Civil Work. A certified check drawn upon a solvent bank or bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in Iowa, and submitted on AIA Document A310 - Bid Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid and made payable to The Adjutant General, Iowa National Guard, shall be filed with each bidder's proposal as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with the State of Iowa and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. Upon failure to comply, said check or bid bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages. Under Chapter 91C of the Iowa Code (1989), any construction contractor performing work in Iowa (including out-of-state contractors) is required to be registered with the Iowa Department of Employment Services Division of Labor. The State Department of Public Defense (Military Division), Iowa Army National Guard, seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in the awarding of contracts. The IAARNG is authorized to award contracts to Targeted Small Businesses under the provisions of Iowa Targeted Small Businesses Procurement Act of 1986 and the Iowa Administrative Code. The IAARNG is also authorized to establish certified Targeted Small Business participation requirements for construction contracts. Award of this contract is dependent on receiving requested Federal and/or State funding. If such funding is not received within the sixty (60) day bid guarantee after the date of receiving bids, all rights and obligations under this agreement are considered null and void. All proposals shall be filed on forms furnished, sealed, and plainly marked as described in the Instructions to Bidders. The Iowa Army National Guard reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the proposal which appears to be in the best interest of the State of Iowa.
