Saving Project...

Site work for a golf course in Portland, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a golf course.

The facility is a former home built in the early 1900's. The existing foundation in the area that is part ofthe construction is of original large fieldstones with several courses of concrete masonry units (CMU) on top. It appears that the foundation wall has been bowed inward several inches by frost. The project requires jacking and shoring the existing building in the immediate vicinity of the demolition work. This jacking plan must be stamped by a professional engineer. The demolition includes the removal ofthe existing fieldstone foundation wall and the CMU. There are also a couple ofwindows in the foundation wall that will be removed in the demolition. The proposed foundation work includes a footing along the length ofthe new wall. The wall shall be constructed ofreinforced CMU full height. The new wall will be tied in to the existing foundation walls at either end. The design includes a foundation drain along the new foundation wall that will be daylighted southerly ofthe facility approximately 15 feet away. There is a bid option to replace some ofthe floor, currently a tile floor, as shown on the plans with a new concrete floor The area is partially below grade in the vicinity ofthe foundation replacement. There is at grade access to the work area through an overhead door on the northerly side ofthe building.
