The City of Pittsburg is interested in receiving written proposals from individuals or firms qualified to complete a historic downtown building survey. This project is partially funded by the Kansas State Historical Preservation Office. The survey area is approximately 12 city blocks off Broadway and contains no more than 80 structures. The completion of this survey and inventory will aid the City of Pittsburg in future economic development planning, as well as in the identification, evaluation, documentation, and preservation of historic resources in Pittsburg. Effects of this project will include a greater understanding and appreciation for the historic context of the built environment of Downtown Pittsburg. The City of Pittsburg is soliciting written proposals from individuals and/ or firms ualified to complete a Off Broadway historic survey for Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas. This area is approximately 12 city blocks off of Broadway from 14th to Euclid and includes no more then 80 buildings. Over the past decade, the Downtown Overlay District has experience growth that continues to permeate throughout the community.This growth has instigated a desire to raise awareness of the significance of these structures to encourage investment. This project is funded by a Historic Preservation Fund grant from the National Park Service and the Kansas Historical Society. The City of Pittsburg will provide assistance with the design and completion of the area maps that are necessary for the project. The City of Pittsburg will provide coordinate public meetings, consultants are not required to attend more than one public meeting. The City of Pittsburg intends to provide photography needs pertaining to the project.
