Old Norrish Creek Intake Replacement Project, including installation of a new Coanda Screen Intake at the new Intake location and construction of new reinforced concrete settlement chamber and retaining walls. The scope of work generally includes the following tasks: Remove and dispose of the steel plate and demolition of the old concrete intake weir, to EL 240.20 m; Remove and dispose of the old intake screen and screen supports/slots from the old intake structure; Remove and dispose of the buried infiltration system upstream of the old weir; Cap the lowered weir with concrete and steel plate, including anchored connections to the existing concrete and bedrock; Supply and install steel plates, framing and anchors to close old intake openings; Close all pipe openings on the old intake structure; Remove and stockpile river cobbles between the lowered weir and New Intake, excavate to grade and replace cobbles on the excavated surface; Excavate left embankment to grade and place riprap; Place riprap on left and right embankments in areas exposed by the riverbed excavation, or any other areas where existing riprap needs repair; Excavate foundation for new intake bypass structure, including excavation in rock; Construction of new reinforced concrete intake bypass structure including access hatches, ladder, guardrail, stoplog slots, and retaining wall; Fabricate steel stoplogs and install steel stoplogs in the new intake bypass structure; Place and compact drainage material and backfill around new intake bypass structure; Remove and dispose of the existing Coanda screen at the New Intake and install the new Coanda screen (supply by others); Plan, install and maintain for the duration of the construction period, any flow diversion and/or isolation of work areas, including management and removal of surface and groundwater.
