The bid award is expected around August 26th. Furnishing and installation of a new mechanical bar screen no. 2 at the Beaver Creek pump station, inclusive of a new conveyor no. 2 and associated appurtenances. In addition, existing conveyor, compactor and washer at existing mechanical bar screen no. 1 is to be demolished and replaced with a new conveyor no. 1. Improvements to the existing odor control system and miscellaneous site improvements are also included in the scope of work. Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. All bids must include a non-collusive affidavit. Contractors offering a proposal on this project must comply, and must ensure that their subcontractors comply, with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes, "Verification of Work Authorization," and must provide documentation or sign affidavits or any other documents requested by the Town of Cary demonstrating such compliance.
Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.
The Town of Cary reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. NCGS 143.128.2 requires each city, county, or other local public entity to adopt a verifiable percentage goal for participation by minority businesses in the total value of work for building projects. The Town of Cary has adopted a goal of ten percent (10%). Public entities shall require contractors to make good faith efforts in the recruitment and selection of minority businesses for participation in building construction projects
