Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Shawinigan, Quebec. Completed plans call for the construction of a 181,900-square-foot, four-story above grade municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; parking garage; and for the demolition of a municipal facility.
Construction of a new federal building in Shawinigan. Project # 082974. The building will provide new office space in support of the programs run by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), Health Canada (HC), and Shared Services Canada (SSC). It will be constructed on the existing National Verification and collections Centre (NVCC) site at 4695 Shawinigan-Sud Blvd, Shawinigan, Québec. The work includes, but is not limited to: Construction of a new building: The new building will be at the current site of the NVCC. It will have a gross area of about 25,700 m and a usable area of about 20,230 m; Complete fit-out of the new building; Decontamination and deconstruction of the existing building; Deconstruction of the existing parking lot and access lanes and site decontamination: To be carried out in phases (approximate total of 1,200 parking spaces); Construction of a new parking lot and access lanes (in phases); and All site fit-out (in phases). TIMELINE: Sub trades are being secured. Deconstruction and site decontamination is scheduled to start in October 1, 2024, and completed in March, 2025. Construction of a new parking is expected to start in mid-March, 2025, and complete on October 31, 2025.
