Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a fitness / recreation center in Cherokee, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 12,470-square-foot, one-story above grade fitness / recreation center; and for the demolition of a fitness / recreation center.
As of October 28, 2019, contract negotiations are underway with the low bidder. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The project consists of demolition of an existing facility and construction of a new recreation/gymnasium facility for the Big Cove Community in Cherokee, NC. The new 12,470 square foot facility includes a pre-engineered metal building gymnasium and a standard metal stud support building. The support area includes office space, concessions kitchen, restrooms, a fitness room and storage. Site improvements include resurfacing and adding to an existing walking trail, parking lot expansion, an asphalt basketball half-court, and playground and pre-engineered pavilion installation.
