Addition of a new external elevator, renovation of an existing approximately 4,600 SF brick masonry structure, selective demolition of existing concrete floors, walls, glazing, doors, and site paving, metal stud partition walls and furring, new latrine areas as well as new mechanical systems, power, lighting and associated plumbing. Interior finishes consist of painted gypsum wall board, ceramic tile, carpet, sheet vinyl, acoustical ceiling tiles and sealed concrete floors. Exterior scope consists of a new masonry elevator hoist way and connection to existing building, connection to existing site utilities, additional concrete sidewalk, and associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scope. A certified check drawn upon a solvent bank or bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in Iowa, and submitted on AIA Document A310 - Bid Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid and made payable to The Adjutant General, Iowa National Guard, shall be filed with each bidder's proposal as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with the State of Iowa and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. Upon failure to comply, said check or bid bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages. The State Department of Public Defense (Military Division), Iowa Army National Guard, seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in the awarding of contracts. The IAARNG is authorized to award contracts to Targeted Small Businesses under the provisions of Iowa Targeted Small Businesses Procurement Act of 1986 and the Iowa Administrative Code.
