This project includes the installation of a king pile and steel sheet pile seawall. A portion of the existing seawall will need to be partially removed to allow for the installation of the new wall. The seawall is located at the former Wildflower property located at 551 East Palmetto Park Road. The seawall is located on the eastern portion of the property adjacent to the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway in the City of Boca Raton. The specific items of work include verification/location of existing conflicting utilities, removal of existing materials, soil stabilization, installing 14" square prestressed concrete piles (vertical and batter), installing 8" thick concrete sheet panels/piles and concrete seawall cap, installing steel sheet pile (with tiebacks, cap and concrete sheet pile along the face), and return walls. The work shall begin at the northern end of the property and progress south as appropriate until the transition to the steel sheet pile wall as necessitated by site conditions. A permit has been issued to the City for this work by the Army Corps of Engineers. All work will be governed by the most recent edition of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and the City's contract documents. Upon written request the Bid security will be returned, except for the three (3) lowest Bidders, within ten (10) calendar days after the opening of Bids, and the remaining bid securities of the three lowest Bidders will be returned upon written request after the City and the Successful Bidder have executed the Contract, or if no Contract has been awarded, within ninety 90 days after the date of opening of Bids, or upon written request of Bidder at any time thereafter, so long as the Bidder has not been notified of acceptance of its Bid. The Successful Bidder identified on the Signature of Bidder Form shall be required to provide a Payment and Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount. The form of the bond shall be substantially in the form prescribed by Section 255.05, Florida Statutes. The Payment and Performance bond is subject to prior approval by the City. The City will not award a Bid to any Bidder who cannot perform a minimum of 30% of the work by the firm identified on the Signature of Bidder Form. Bidder to declare what portion will be subcontracted in the Bid submittal. Minimum work percentage shall be defined as all components of the job with the exception of mobilization, administration, overhead and profit. There are no site visit dates and times, as such site is open to the public.
