This project includes pavement rehabilitation by one of two alternative methods. This project includes pavement rehabilitation by one of the two alternative methods. The first alternative, as shown in Bid Schedule I, includes street reconstruction including removal and replacement of damaged pavement sections; milling and header cutting of street surfaces and paving with HMA and RHMA; bump grind, crack seal and crack repair and slurry seal; removal and replacement of damaged concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter; construction of ADA ramps, adjustment of sewer manhole covers to final grade, and installation of pavement striping and marking. The second alternative, as shown in Bid Schedule II, includes pavement rehabilitation by Central Cold Plant Recycling method (CCPR), overlay, removal and replacement of damaged concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter; construction of ADA ramps, adjustment of sewer manhole covers to final grade, and installation of pavement striping and marking. No bid will be considered unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by cash or a check payable to the City of Highland, certified by a responsible bank, for an amount which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the grand total bid or by a bond for the amount over and above all statutory exemptions, or by a bond of an accredited surety company. The check or bond will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) working days following receipt of the contract from the City.
