Renovation of an educational facility in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The anticipated start date for this project is 1/20/20. For RFQ D/B - HVAC and Interior Improvement in Design-build Delivery Model - Package No.II The work will consist of one Design-Build contract consisting of: CCS Project No.19011 - Package No.II - North HS. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, HVAC replacement, electrical and lighting upgrades, auditorium upgrades, miscellaneous interior upgrades and site improvements project. Criteria services for the project will be provided by Schooley Caldwell Associates. Submittals will be evaluated pursuant to ORC Chapter 153, including relevant past work of prospective firm(s), professional and other applicable consultants, quality control, response to CCS Community Inclusion Policy (Local Economically Disadvantaged Enterprise goal is 20% participation) and location of primary firm relative to project location. More information can be found online. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Prevailing wage Rates do not apply to this project. Columbus City Schools seeks qualifications from interested parties to replace the HVAC system and provide repairs and upgrades to the building interior at the former North High School in the Design-Build model. The successful Proposer will identify and implement the replacement of the HVAC system throughout as well as interior repairs in accordance with the design criteria and within the allocated budget. Columbus City Schools will use a modified AIA Design-Build Contract for this project. Pursuant to ORC Chapter 153, Columbus City Schools may recommend a design-build contract to a successful contractor selected based on the provisions of ORC 153.693. Based on Director, Capital Improvement’s recommendations, Board of Education, Columbus City School may enter contracts for the renovation of the building with all supporting disciplines including but not limited to Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical. “Design-Build Delivery” model is a method of constructing a project based on Design Criteria published by a Criteria Architect and Engineer (CA/CE) within budget and on schedule. Such model allows the synergy of construction contractor and Architect/Engineer of Record (AOR/EOR) to collaborate and apply creative ideas for completion of the project within budget and on time. The goal is to maximize financial benefit to the Owner through implementation of these measures by having single source responsibility of completing a construction project. Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal will be required at all the conclusion of the Request for Proposal (RFP) Phase and will be used in determining the Best Value Selection. Design Criteria for this project has been provided by Schooley Caldwell Architects The CA/CE has identified several methods to complete the project. This information will be provided to the short-listed firms in a subsequent Request for Proposal (“RFP”) phase of the selection process. Short listed firms may propose additional benefits in their proposal to the Owner and CA/CE that fit within the project budget while meeting the design criteria.
