New construction and renovation of a water / sewer project in Las Vegas, Nevada. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.
The Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) Fermentation Improvements Project will modify existing treatment structures or construct a new facility specifically designed for fermentation. This fermented sludge is beneficial to enhance biological phosphorus removal in the Biological Nutrient Removal process reactors. The 2015 WPCF Facility Plan Update indicated that the nutrient removal process may be impacted at higher flows and fermentation improvements for VFA (volatile fatty acids) generation and controlling the primary sludge thickeners are recommended. As of October 13, 2021, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2026 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
