The Department of Administration is seeking a design-build team to provide a turn-key strategy for security and door hardware modifications at the Idaho State Capitol Building. The project will include an evaluation of the current access control system, security and existing door hardware (historic and modern), for a very specific set of openings in various locations throughout the building. Modifications and/or additions may be necessary. Any new additions to the existing system will need to be evaluated by the design-build team for system capacity, compliance with ADA and existing building code for egress and life safety. All door hardware and security equipment must integrate into the existing Hirsch Access Control System. The building has gone through a restoration and renovation and all existing access control equipment has been located to support the existing historic nature of the structure. All existing infrastructure and routing-/ pathways will need to be maintained. Design should address the unique nuances of the original construction methods and materials of the building. The final deliverable for this work will be a phased delivery plan with pricing and timeline based on priorities outlined by DPW and LSO. The work should not be limited to the technologies that are currently being used. The Design-Builder's scope of work will include: 1. Pre-construction project planning will require an assessment of the exiting security program, existing door hardware, accessibility and life safety code applications. including the preparation of a schedule, door and hardware schedule, preliminary cost estimate and value engineering measures. 2. Design Phase shall include preparing architectural, electrical, low-voltage plans and hardware specifications based on owner's criteria. 3. Construction Phase shall include: construction and construction administration by the Builder as well as the Architect/Engineers of Record. Construction administration will also include conferences, site observations and progress meetings with the Agency and DPW. 4. All work shall be in accordance with currently adopted building, fire, accessibility, and energy codes. 5. Project Closeout, establishment of warranties, guarantees and owner training.
