As of April 12, 2022, this project was awarded May 2021 and is nearing completion. The proposed project is an interior renovation of the facility which consists of two buildings with a connector at 178 and 180 Sams Street. The renovation will consist of all interior building systems including, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, telecom, security, audio-visual, architectural systems and finishes. The facility will house DeKalb County Departments that are transitioning out of lease agreements and moving into county-owned property. This will provide a central location for interdependent government services. Contractor shall fully complete all Work within 165 calendar days from and including the acknowledgement date of the Notice to Proceed. The 7.34 acre site is adjacent to the newly-developed MARTA transit-oriented development, Cortland Decatur East, a mixed-use hub connected to MARTA's Avondale Station via a skybridge. The East Decatur Greenway Trail runs parallel to the east of the site, providing a 1.1 mile bicycle/pedestrian trail.
