20050 Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a bid bond in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal, said deposit to be retained by the owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law (G.S. 143-129). Base Bid: The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents as Construction Phase 1 and Phase 2 and consists of the following: 1. The existing UNC campus Fire Alarm Supervising Station (FASS) monitoring system shall be upgraded to a new, current generation "one-way private radio Type 6 FASS system". The new supervising station system architecture shall consist of a dual redundant FASS system at Public Safety Building (430). A duplicate supervising station system shall be located at Environmental Safety and Health (649). Work includes providing a Life Safety Event Management system graphical and automation and dispatch system. 2. The FASS monitoring Ethernet communication between Public Safety Building (430) and Environmental Safety and Health (649) will be provided by UNC and setup on a dedicated VLAN within the UNC IT WAN infrastructure. Access to the FASS network shall be provided by dedicated FASS workstations in the subnet and pass word protected and controlled by UNC. 3. Remove existing CARS fire monitoring alarm system in Public Safety Building (430) upon commissioning, testing and acceptance of new Campus Central Alarm Network Replacement system. Work includes removing the remote building Digital Alarm Communicators at each remote building. Bid RFI Cut-off January 18, 2022 5:00 PM
