Plans call for the construction of a new aquatic center which would be home to a 50 meter pool and training facilities. The center would also offer year-round programs for therapy, recreation, instruction, training and competitive water sports. As of May 16, 2024, this project is in the design phase. The project is a joint venture between SUNY Schenectady County Community College, the County and the Capital Region Aquatic Center. An architect has been selected for the project. Information regarding the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
