The Work includes the following:
o Water Main Replacement consisting of approximately 2,201 LF of 10-inch public water supply mains, 8,476 LF of 8-inch public water supply mains, 4 proposed fire hydrants, resetting or replacement of 13 existing fire hydrants, 20 water main tie-ins from side street connections ranging from 2- to 10-inches in diameter and other miscellaneous work. The proposed water main will serve as a replacement and run parallel to the existing water main. The existing water main is to be abandoned in place.
o Sewer Rehabilitation consists of the approximately 30 point repairs at select locations on the existing sewer main, reestablishing sewer services where necessary and other miscellaneous work.
o Majority of the work will be within NCDOT right-of-way. All NCDOT standards are to be followed. Work hours within the road will be set by NCDOT. The contactor will be responsible to provide traffic control per NCDOT standards for the entirety of the project . Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be for a Consideration will be given only to Contractors who submit evidence that they are properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes.Bid security in the amount of 5% of the Bidder's maximum bid must accompany each bid.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, and will award to lowest responsible Bidder taking into consideration quality, performance, and time specified in Bid Form for performance of Work. Owner also reserves the right to waive informalities.
