Renovation of an educational facility in Coralville, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

For Laundry - Replace Dryers in Room 140 General Description of Work: 1) Project consists of the removal of four (4) existing dryers/(1) existing shuttle conveyor and replace them with four (4) new dryers/(1 ) new shuttle conveyor. 2) Mechanical: a) Remove four (4) existing dryers and load onto flatbed truck provided by others. b) Demolish and/or modify the following piping systems serving the existing dryers for the installation of the new dryers. 1) Compressed Air. 2) Water. 3) Natural Gas. Demolish and/or modify the following ductwork systems serving the existing dryers for the installation of the new dryers. 1) Outside Air Inlet Duct. 2) Exhaust Air Duct. d) Unload and install four (4) new Owner-Furnished dryers and (1) new Owner-Furnished shuttle conveyor. e) Load four (4) existing dryers and one (1) existing shuttle conveyor onto transportation supplied by others to facilitate "trade-in" of existing units. Furnish and install piping systems as required for interconnection to the new dryers g) Furnish and install ductwork systems as required for interconnection to the new dryers. h) Remove, salvage, and/or modify the existing guard/shelf, and guard rail to allow clearance for moving equipment in/out, and around control panels. i) Rework dryer discharge chute to properly unload onto existing discharge conveyor. j) Remove existing hand rail by Dryer 1 and reinstall new hand rail with removable sections to access equipment and controls. 3) Electrical: a) Disconnect and remove existing cables and conduits associated with existing dryers and shuttle conveyor. b) Disconnect and remove existing cables and conduits associated with existing discharge conveyor and incline conveyor control panel and control devices. Discharge conveyor and incline discharge conveyor to remain. c) Remove in-slab conduit as needed to extend conduit in concrete (approximately 2'-3') to serve new dryer control panels. d) Install and connect new electrical power cables and conduit from existing panel to new local electrical disconnect, then extending to new dryers. e) Install new Ellis main control podium. f) Install new cable tray, conduit, and cable to serve new signal wiring between new dryers and new Ellis main control podium. g) Install new discharge conveyor control panel and cable to communicate with Ellis main control podium, and perch controls. h) By Softrol: 1) Support the removal of existing Softrol control system connection (coax) associated with existing dryers and existing shuttle conveyor. 2) Support the removal existing Softrol control system connection (coax) associated with existing discharge conveyors. 3) Install and terminate new interface cards in existing washer/extractors for automation of new dryers and shuttle conveyor through Ellis main control podium. Label wire in existing washer/extractor control cabinet. 4) Modify existing Softrol control system loop to keep new and existing equipment to remain, connected and in service. i) By Ellis: 1) Terminate cables from existing washers to new Ellis main control podium for automation of existing washer/extractors, new dryers, and shuttle conveyors. Label wire in Ellis main control podium. 2) Provide new signal and power cables for installation in existing sliding cable tray for new shuttle conveyor. 3) Provide means to communicate with Softrol control system to support new dryers and shuttle conveyor installation and operation.
