New construction of a multi-residential development in Fergus, Ontario. Design plans call for the construction of a 200,000-square-foot, five-story above grade, 250-unit multi-residential development.
Construction of "continuum of care" housing and services for seniors in the community. Scope to include a mix of retirement apartments, market rental apartments, life lease units and affordable housing. The project will be built adjacent to the existing facility. TIMELINE: Schematic design was forwarded to the owner for approval late 2020. The scope of work is being reviewed and the number of units and total gross floor area are being finalized. The owner did not receive County approval of the schematic design late 2022, nor funds to proceed to working drawings. The owner resubmitted funding request mid-2023 to proceed to working drawings. Working drawings are expected to begin spring, 2024. The owner issued a call from Developers for affordable housing projects that closed January 2022 and is under review with an award anticipated early 2024. Further schedules for tender and construction timing will be finalized in 2024 based on capital funding allocation.
