The proposed water treatment plant upgrade and expansion is required to provide potable water and related services that meet federal and provincial regulations, while also providing adequate supply for the existing community and projected future growth. The scope of work for this upgrade includes the following: - Remedial works to improve operations of the intake structure; - Upgrading of wet well structure; - Replacement of low lift pumps and high lift pumps to meet design objectives; - Construction of a below-grade reservoir to meet the 20-year design; - Installation of a dual train packaged conventional treatment technology; - Provide primary disinfection utilizing Ultraviolet Light; - Replace existing diesel driven generator and upgrade existing motor control centre (MCC); - Upgrade the system to include Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and appropriate sensors; and - Building expansion to accommodate proposed system upgrades.
