University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) General Hospital - Replace Fan Coil and Convectors - Phase I- RE-BID Bids shall be accompanied by and secured only by a cash deposit, a cashiers check, a certified check,or a bid bond in an amount of at least five (5) percent of the bid. Bids accompanied and secured by any otherform of bid security shall automatically be disqualified. The Bidder is requested to name persons, firms or other parties to whom it is intended to award a subcontract under this Contract, if and as requested on the Form of Bid. 10.2 In accordance with Iowa law, the successful Bidder shall furnish in writing to the Owner within forty-eight (48) hours after the notice of award the Contract, a list of the names of subcontractors who will work on the project. Owner may reject any or all bids, waive irregularities or technicalities in any bid, and accept any bid in whole or in part which it deems to be in its best interests Project consists of the installation of pumps, heat exchangers, and piping infrastructure to support future expansion of four-pipe fan coil systems. Alternates: Alternate 1: Extend 4" HWS/R main from Base Bid point of termination in Mechanical Room BT0037 to the location indicated in room BT0018-1 and include capped isolation valves for future extension, flushing bypass and minimum flow bypass at point of termination in BT0018-1. Alternate 2: Provide new chilled water pumps P-7A and P-7B, to include demolition of existing pumps, furnish and install new pumps and associated hydronic accessories, controls, power connection, and variable frequency drives. This section applies to all work under the plumbing contract. This shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: Cold Water Distribution System The work shall include all materials, equipment and labor required for complete and properly functioning plumbing systems. Drawings for plumbing work are in part diagrammatic, intended to convey the scope of work and indicate general arrangement of equipment, piping and approximate sizes and locations of equipment and materials. Where job conditions require reasonable changes in indicated locations and arrangements, make such changes without additional cost to Owner. Because of the scale of the drawings, certain piping or items such as unions or fittings may not be shown, but where such items are required by other sections of the specifications, or where they are required by the nature of the work, they shall be furnished and installed. All elements of the construction shall be performed by workmen skilled in the particular craft involved, and regularly employed in that particular craft. All work shall be performed in a neat, workmanlike manner in keeping with the highest standards of the craft.
