Site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Houston, Texas. Working plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; water / sewer project; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Plans call to develop a diversion channel and enhance the conveyance capabilities of existing channels. The main component to build a high flow channel designed to manage high water flows in the North Canal area. Other plans call construct 185-foot-wide channel, featuring a 60-foot-wide wet pilot channel supported by concrete retaining walls. A paved maintenance and shared-use path will line the edge of the channel alongside vegetated slopes for erosion control. As of February 18, 2025, the project is in Final Design 60% complete. The construction document completion timeline has not been released. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been disclosed. Construction is slated to begin Summer of 2026, with completion date of Winter 2029. However, the firm timelines have not been established.
