Outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Completed plans call for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The scope of this project is to replace the existing Schofield Barracks parking lot lighting surrounding Building 1700 with new LED lighting fixtures to match existing perimeter lights as per user request. Project shall be confined to the light poles located within the main parking lot perimeter only (refer to Site Plan on Appendix C). The existing lighting are mounted 30' high and consists of pole mounted high pressure sodium (HPS) and metal halide (MH) light fixtures. Most of the poles have a dark bronze finish. Other types of finishes are black and faded olive drab. The contractor shall match the new light fixture color finish with the existing pole. However, due to some fading and color differences between manufacturers, exact color matching may not be possible. Exterior LED light fixtures do not have a wattage standard commonly used in other forms of light sources, such as high pressure sodium and metal halide. Therefore lighting designs are based on specific LED light fixtures. These light fixtures were chosen based on the quality of the fixture (corrosion resistant), the track record of the fixture (years in use), the integral motion sensor, the integral bi-level switching, the airflow thermal management, and the "Buy American Act" requirements. Remove, dispose or recycle, provide and install 111 new LED Light fixture/heads in parking lot surrounding building 1700 SB (parking lot area only). Contractor to inspect site and verify fixture head count (refer to Appendix C) prior to any work. Existing electrical system, concrete base and aluminum pole to remain and be reused. Existing concrete bases and existing aluminum poles will be reused. Only light fixture and controller will be new. All new fixtures to include Photocell as a factory installed option. A maximum of two (2) representatives from each MATOC awardee will be permitted to attend the site visit. No additional site visits will be scheduled. Email the name, phone, and email address of your site visit attendees to the Contract Specialist listed in Paragraph 13 by 10:00 a.m. on 31st October 2019. Names will be compiled on the signin sheet for the site visit. We will meet outside of the compound and collectively proceed to the area. Please be on time as we will depart at 1:00 No questions will be answered at the site visit. Contractors shall email all inquiries and RFIs via email to Mr. Manny Arango, Engineer Tech Email: manuel.j.arango.civ@mail.mil and Ms. Lynn McMiller, Contract Specialist, Email: lynn.mcmiller.civ@mail.mil no later than 12 November 2019, at 1530 The email must be received no later than the date and time of the proposal submission.
