Site work for a civil project in Dawsonville, Georgia. Working plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The owner has determined a prequalified list of general contractors. Russell Creek Reservoir Dam and Spillway System - The project includes the construction of the earthen embankment dam, principal spillway, raw water supply structure for the Russell Creek Reservoir, and miscellaneous works around the reservoir. Work includes: e Construction of a tunnel through the left abutment (R) Installation of a 72-inch principal spillway pipe and 36-inch ductile iron raw water main into the tunnel, tunnel plug and backfill with cellular grout Construction of a 100-ft. tall principal spillway inlet riser structure and the energy dissipator outlet structure o Removal ofthe existing NRCS flood control dam >> Foundation preparation for the new dam that includes dental concrete, grout curtain, and cutoff wall Earthfill placement to construct a new earthen embankment dam with a height of approximately 100 ft. Earthfill dam will contain a chimney drain and foundation drain for seepage collection. Access bridge (approximately 230 feet long) connecting the embankment dam to the riser tower. Miscellaneous works including boat ramp, boat dock, electrical, and instrumentation. The work will be awarded in one Contract. All applicants should follow the submittal instructions in the Application for Bidders Pre-Qualification for each project. Contractors who were notified that they were pre-qualified in 2020 for the Russell Creek Reservoir - Phase 1 project are still prequalified for the Russell Creek Reservoir Dam and Spillway System Project, except they must demonstrate experience in the construction of high hazard earthen dams. Please pay attention to the instructions in the Pro-qualification Application. Pre-qualified Contractors will be notified when copies ofContract Documents are available in the 3rd or 4th quarter of2021. A BID BONI) in the amount of 5 percent (5%) ofthe total base Bid shall accompany each Bid submitted. The Bid Bond shall be prepared on the Bid Bond form attached to the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State ofGeorgia and listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570. THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent ofthe Bid and liability insurances per the Contract Documents, Section 00 73 16 Insurance Requirements. THE OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and to re-adveitise. All items must meet specifications as stated by Etowah Water & Sewer Authority. Etowah Water & Sewer Authority reserves the right to waive any technicalities and to reject or accept any Bid in its entirety or to accept any portion thereofifit is determined that cither method results in lower costs, better service, final satisfaction or is otherwise determined to be in the best interest of Etowah Water & Sewer Authority. Determination of best response to Bid will be the sole judgment ofthe Etowah Water & Sewer Authority. Bid terms shall remain valid for ninety days from the date ofthe Bid opening.
