Site work and paving for a water / sewer project in Hartford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for paving for a water / sewer project.
The Work shall consist of all labor, equipment, fees, permits, and other related costs necessary to provide for making improvements to various size sewer pipes, manholes and appurtenances, rehabilitation of sewer mains by cure-in-place liner, or other lining technologies, exploratory excavations, dewatering, sheeting and shoring, backfilling and paving. Also, furnishing, laying and jointing the new PVC sewer, pipes fittings couplings, removal and disposal of existing sewer pipe, saw-cutting of pavement, excavation and disposal of excavated materials, support of excavation and protection of sewer, protection of existing utilities and structures, dewatering, furnishing and installing bedding and backfill materials, geotextile fabric, compaction, connections to existing and/ or new manholes including coring to existing structures and chambers, hydrophilic end seals at manholes, preconstruction and post construction video, connecting to existing pipes, PVC or Ductile iron wyes and tees, cleaning and testing the pipe, diversion and/or maintenance of existing flows, control of groundwater and surface or drainage waters, protection crossing, supporting of existing of existing structures and utilities; replacement of existing utilities disturbed during construction; care and protection of property; coordination with other contractors and utilities and all other items necessary to complete work; may also include making improvements to any other work deemed necessary by the engineer. The Work shall be located in the District member towns and potentially in adjacent non- member towns, in the state of Connecticut. Bidders are directed to Section 01010 Summary of Work for specific details. Each Bid shall be submitted in strict accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10 percent of the Bid. The Bidder shall hold a current DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate in SEWER AND WATER LINES from the Department of Administrative Services of the State of Connecticut according to C.G.S 4a-100, C.G.S. 4b-101 and C.G.S.4b-91. Bidders shall submit with their Bids their DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate along with a current Update Bid Statement. In addition, any named Subcontractor whose subcontract value is equal to or greater than $500,000 shall hold a current DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate in the closest applicable Classification of the work that the Subcontractor will complete in the contract. The bidder must submit with their bid, all applicable Subcontractor DAS Prequalification certificates. Any Bid submitted without a copy of the DAS Prequalification Certificate and an Update Bid Statement for the bidder and DAS Prequalification Certificates for Subcontractors whose subcontract value is equal to or greater than $500,000 shall be invalid. The Successful Bidder and each of its Subcontractors having subcontracts in value equal to or greater than $500,000 shall maintain and keep current their respective DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificates at all times during the term of the Contract and any warranty period set forth in the Contract Documents. This Solicitation is subject to a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) set-aside of FIVE percent (5%) of the total awarded Contract value by a subcontractor.
