The meeting will include a presentation to give an overview of the project, anticipated construction impacts and schedule. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will soon be seeking to retain a Design-Build Contractor consisting of a Construction firm and a Consultant Engineering firm to execute a contract for the design and construction of CTDOT Project No. 0079-0244: Resurfacing, Bridge Rehabilitation and Safety Improvements on I-691in the Town of Southington and City of Meriden Connecticut. The selected Contractor will provide design and construction services for this Project, which will include but not limited to; Roadway rehabilitation consisting of bituminous concrete pavement and/or concrete pavement; Roadway drainage and cross culvert investigation/repairs; Minor bridge work; Guiderail upgrades; Highway design and construction; Traffic engineering; Illumination; Maintenance and Protection of Traffic; Contractor Quality Control and Environmental permit applications. This solicitation is open to all construction contractors prequalified by CTDOT for work classification Group No. 7 - Road Construction and Rehabilitation: Limited Access Highways/Freeways; and must qualify for Scope Code M. Scope Code M is for projects in the $40,000,000 - $59,999,999 range. NOTE: Construction firms interested in participating in this solicitation must become prequalified in the appropriate work classification by the prequalification deadline which is anticipated to be March 04, 2020. There are no specific prequalification requirements for the Consultant Engineering firms. However, the qualifications of these firms, as they relate to the requirements of the project will be evaluated through the qualification review process. t is anticipated that the request for Statements of Qualifications will be issued on January 02, 2020, with a due date of February 12, 2020.
