Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Carbondale, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and transportation facility.

A new multimodal transportation center will be constructed on the site of the existing Amtrak Station. This new facility will stretch from Cherry Street to Walnut Street. Public transportation usage is on the rise. In order to provide our citizens and visitors with comprehensive services at one central location, it is necessary to construct a multimodal transportation facility. This new facility will provide space that will allow for the consolidation of many local transit services including Amtrak, Greyhound Bus, Saluki Express, Jackson County Mass Transit, Various Regional Bus Services, Taxi Cab Companies, and the like. This Project is also subject to the State of Illinois Job Works Jobs Program Act and the Illinois Works Apprentice Initiative. Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act and/or Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820ILCS 130/1-12), whichever is the highest rate. Bid security in the form of a certified bank check or bank draft payable to the City of Carbondale, or a satisfactory bid bond, in the amount of 10% of the total bid price, as specified in Section 2-7 of the General Conditions and The City of Carbondale's Policy for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and/or Workforce Participation Goals in Contracts are required to be submitted with the Bid. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the City of Carbondale. The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder complying with the provisions of this Invitation for Bid. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality or technicality in any proposal in the interest of the City.
