Site work for a water / sewer project in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project includes providing all construction supervision, labor, materials, tools, test equipment necessary for the Cane Run Trunk and Lexmark Trunk A & B Sewer Improvements (RMP# CR11, RMP# CR-12 and RMP# CR-13) that includes the replacement of approximately 2,030 linear of 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer and appurtenance structures between New Circle Road and Newtown Pike and approximately 3,462 linear of 24-inch diameter and 1,855 linear feet of 18-inch sanitary sewer and appurtenance structures between New Circle Road and North Broadway . The project also includes side connections of 30-inch,18-inch, 12-inch and 8-inch sanitary sewer as well as portions that will involve creek crossings, boring sections and pipe bursting. Bids will be received from Prime contracting firms on a Unit Price basis. Bids shall be submitted in the manner and subject to the conditions as set forth and described in the Information Available to Bidders and Bid Form. Sealed Bids shall be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope as follows: Company Name and Address, Bid Invitation Number, and the Project Name. Bids are to remain sealed until official Bid closure time. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the closing date for receipt of Bids. Errors and omissions will not be cause for withdrawal of Bid without forfeit of Bid Bond. Bids may be withdrawn in person prior to the closing date of receipt of Bids. All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid executed by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and countersigned by a licensed Kentucky Resident Agent, representing the Surety Company. Certified Check or Bid Bond shall be payable to Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. Notice of requirement for Affirmative Action to ensure Equal Employment Opportunities and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and Woman-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) Contract participation. LFUCG has set a goal that not less than ten percent (10%) of the total value of this Contract be subcontracted to MWDBEs. The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government also has set a goal that not less than three percent (3%) of the total value of this Contract be subcontracted to Veteran-owned Small Businesses. The goal for the utilization of MWDBEs as well as Veteran subcontractors is a recommended goal. Contractor(s) who fail to meet such goal will be expected to provide written explanations to the Director ofthe Division of Purchasing of efforts they have made to accomplish the recommended goal, and the extent to which they are successful in accomplishing the recommended goal will be a consideration in the procurement process. Depending on the funding source, other MWDBE goals may apply. The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government may be served. It is therefore a request of each Bidder to include in its bid, the same goal (10%) for MWDBE participation and other requirements as outlined in this section.
