As of June 16, 2020, an awarded general contractor has been confirmed. The Owner issued the NTP June 1, 2020. Construction is underway. The Town of Cutler Bay is currently advertising a Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 19-13 for: Franjo Park Improvements Project for the Town's Park and Recreation Department. On September 2017, Hurricane Irma damaged the park causing significant damage. As a result, the Town is restoring/improving the park to code. Franjo Park is located at 20175 Franjo Rd. and is a 5.27 acre park composed of three (3) baseball/softball athletic fields. There are two (2) buildings located at the park. One building is a community building connected to restrooms and full concession stand. The second building was originally used as storage. The following is a summary of the scope of work: Site clearing and demolition, tree protection, sealcoat and stripe existing parking lot, install temporary construction fencing with screen, remove and replace the following items: existing fencing and foundations, clay and turf fields, knock-down area, drainage, dugouts, benches, battings cages, bullpen areas, warning tracks, service gates, outfield netting and poles, foul poles. In addition, the following new items are included: golf cart parking area, safety padding, grass turf parking area, backflow preventer, irrigation system and pump, car charging stations, scoreboard relocations, bike racks, dumpster pad, and vehicular gate. Building 1 - Community Building Scope - Replacement Of Existing Finishes, Mechanical Equipment, and Plumbing Fixtures. Removal of existing exterior door & addition of new door out of community room. Replacement of existing doors & roll-up grills, new casework, finishes, equipment, and grease interceptor in food preparation area. Community building (1,088 SF)/Kitchen gross (805 SF) - TOTAL: 1,893 SF. No change in square footage from existing. Building 2 - Office building scope - New mechanical system, Roof insulation, New casework, new partitions to create office and storage spaces. Office building gross SF total: 945 SF. No change in square footage from existing. Women/Minority Owned and Emerging Small Businesses are invited to submit bids on this project.
