The City of Salem is seeking expressions of interest from consulting engineering firms who wish to be considered to provide professional engineering services for: The Elizabeth Campus Greenway use trail completing the missing link between the Mason Creek Greenway and the East Mail Street Greenway along Lynchburg Turnpike. Greenway on the Elizabeth Campus will consist of approximately 1.75 miles of 5- to 10-foot-wide sidewalk or pavement. This train system will connect to East Main St multi-model trail leading west to the city's downtown and east to the Hanging Rock Battlefield & Mason's Creek greenways/trails. This project is included in the city's 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of January 6, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. Bidders must certify that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
