Renovation of a mixed-use development in Paso Robles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: The project consists of the demolition of existing antiquated buildings. New administration/ Library/ Classroom building comprised a single story and a two story component with a total of 28,577 Sf. Minor modernizations of 4 existing buildings (Bldg. 4, 5, 6, and 9) and overall site grading. Minor electrical upgrades to Building 8. Increment 2 Two new single story modular construction buildings totaling 7,086 Sf Bids must be accompanied by a bidder''s bond, cashier''s check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner. Public works projects shall be subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. For all projects over Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), a contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to submit a bid or to be listed in a bid proposal subject to the requirements of Public Contract Code section 4104 unless currently registered and qualified under Labor Code section 1725.5 to perform public work as defined by Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1 (1720 et seq.) of the Labor Code. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, as set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder will be allowed to substitute securities or establish an escrow in lieu of retainage, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, and as described in the Agreement Be- tween Owner and Contractor and General Conditions. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
