Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

For the Improvement of Certain Section of Highways and Bridges in Luzerne County, Hanover & Plymouth Townships, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State Route 0029, Section P22. The Project Being Situated as Follows: From a Point Near the Intersection With Sr 2002 at Segment 0080, Offset 0938 to a Point Near Sr 0011 at Segment 0090, Offset 3414 Along Sr 0029-northbound. From a Point Near the Intersection With Sr 2002 at Segment 0081, Offset 0928 to a Point Near Sr 0011 at Segment 0091, Offset 3416 Along Sr 0029-southbound. This Project Involves Priority 1 Bridge Repairs of the Existing 11-span Structure Carrying Sr 0029, Section P22 Over the Nanticoke Creek, Susquehanna River and Norfolk Southern Railroad. The Work Will Include Resetting of Expansion Bearings, Replacement of Missing Rivets, Steel Girder Repairs, Spot Painting, Tack Weld Removal, Repair Deteriorated Concrete and Tree Trimming. Temporary Cross Overs, and Temporary Paving on the Shoulder Will Be Utilized to Maintain Traffic During Construction. Also, the Sr 0029 - Section P30 (Over Sr 0011) Work Will Include but Not Limited to, the Resetting of Bearings, Cleaning of Bridge Seats, Heat Straightening, Installation of Steel Diaphragms, Mill and Bituminous Over Lay on the Bridge, Type 2 & 3 Bridge Deck Repairs, and Full Depth Pavement Reconstruction and Mountable Median Curb Replacement on the Roadway Approaches. Traffic Control Will Require Temporary Median and Shoulder Pavement as Well as Temporary Crossovers on Sr 0029. Temporary Median Pavement Will Be Required to Shift Traffic Accordingly and Complete Necessary Work on Sr 0011.
