New construction of a clubhouse / community center in Chatsworth, Ontario. Design plans call for the construction of a two-story above grade clubhouse / community center.
Construction of a multi-use community hub with a full-size indoor ice surface, walking track, community hall with seating for 350 people, senior's activity room, a health facility, space for a daycare and a seating area for the rink. The facility will also have a room for South East Grey Community Health Services and council might also look at moving the township offices to the new facility as well. The new community hub will be located at the previously demolished 6.5-acre arena site, plus donated adjacent land to create an overall 17-acre site for the build. TIMELINE: Preliminary design is complete. Project design remains on hold as of July 2024. Projected cost is $15.4 million. ICIP application for Government funding has been turned down. Fundraising is on-going. Project is part of the Townships 10 Year Capital Forecast (2021-2030). Updates may be available spring 2025.
