***As of March 24, 2020, project was awarded to Layton Construction buy award amount not available.*** This Construction Management / General Contractor (Cm/gc) Project Includes Seismic Upgrade of the Entire Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse to Current Code Requirements, and the Complete Upgrade of the Fire Protection System to Accommodate Future Ti Expansions. The Awarded Contractor Will Also Construct a New 400 Seat Theater Within the Existing Fieldhouse Building. The University's Standard Rfp Has Been Substantially Modified. Please Read This Rfp Very Closely. The Request for Proposals (Rfp) Documents, Including the Selection Requirements and the Selection Schedule, Are Available Electronically. Please Note: We Are Not Accepting Hard Copy Proposals. All Questions Must Be Directed to: John Meredith, 480-234-2988, John@method-studios.com The Procurement Shall Be Under the Value Based Selection Rfp Method. A Representative From Each Interested Prime Firm is Required to Attend. During the Meeting, a Presentation Will Be Made to Describe the Overall Scope of Work and Intended Schedule. Interested Firms May Ask Questions and Request Clarification About the Project and the Procurement Process. Subconsultants Are Invited to Attend This Meeting but It is Not Mandatory for Them. The Prime Firms Absence From the Pre-submittal Meeting and/of Failure to Sign the Attendance Roster Precludes Participation as a Submitting Firm on This Project. Proposals, Including a Cost Proposal, Management Plan, References, Statements of Qualifications, Etc., Must Be Submitted Electronically. The University is Not Responsible for Difficulties, Technical or Otherwise, Associated With the Electronic Submission Process. The Contractor for the Project Must Be a Utah Licensed General Contractor. Association With Other Individuals or Firms Having Appropriate Professional Expertise is Acceptable. the University Will Enter Into a Single Agreement With the Successful Contractor. The Cm/gc Selected for This Project May Also Be Awarded, at the University's Discretion, All Future Tenant Improvement Projects Beginning Before August 1, 2024, Without Another Selection Process or Pursue a New Procurement Process for These Projects. The Architecture Classrooms and Dance Studio Work Can Only Be Started on May 1, 2020 and Must Be Substantially Complete No Later August 14, 2020. Historically Significant Building. Contractor Must Use Existing Building Openings for All Work Access, No Exterior Modifications Are Allowed. University Historical Architect, Charles Shepherd, Must Be Consulted Before Any Proposed Changes Are Suggested. A Bid Bond in the Amount of Five Percent (5%) of the Flcc, Made Payable to the University of Utah Shall Accompany the Cost Proposal. Effective September 10, 2018, the University Has Retired the Previous State Mandated Surety Bond Forms and is Now Requiring the Use of the Aia Bid Bond Form A310-2010 and Performance and Payment Bond Form A312-2010. The University of Utah Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Proposals or to Waive Any Formality or Technicality in Any Proposal in the Interest of the University.
