As of 01/28/2020 The project has been awarded to Globe Contractors for $883,157.50. The schedule has not been released yet, but the anticipated start date is March 1, 2020. Project involves approximately 2,550 L.F. 20-inch diameter water main, 300 L.F. 20-inch diameter water main directional drill, 20-inch diameter butterfly valves, hydrants and leads, hydrant lead extension, hydrant relocations, erosion control, asphalt pavement repair, tree removal, traffic control, and restoration. All Work is included in a single prime contract. Bidding Documents, including Drawings and Specifications, may be examined at the offices of Racine Water Utility and the Consulting Engineer during regular business hours. Construction time is of the essence. Completion delays are subject to liquidated damages. Bid proposals from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Emerging Business Enterprise (EBE), Small Businesses Enterprise (SBA), Service Disabled Veteran and or Veteran-owned Business (SDV/SVB), are encouraged. The Racine Water and Wastewater Utility reserves the right to accept the most advantageous Bid, or to reject any and all Bids. Award of Work described herein is subject to the provisions of the Wisconsin Statutes. A prebid conference will be held. Details are provided in the Instructions to Bidders of the Bidding Documents. Bidders are responsible for delivery of the Bidders Qualification statement to the office of the Racine Water Utility at least 5 days before the Bid opening date. All Bidders must qualify for 2019. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bond or Certified Check payable to Racine Water Utility equal to 5 percent of the Bid. If the successful Bidder fails to execute the Contract and furnish payment and performance bonds within 15 days after the award, the Check or Bid Bond may be forfeited to Racine Water Utility as liquidated damages Prequalification Required: Yes
