In general, the project consists of the following work: 1. Removal of existing lift station equipment and piping at Lift Station 5. This project includes the removal of a portion ofthe existing dry well.
2. Conversion of the existing wet well structure into a flow-through manhole.
3. Construction of new precast wet well and valve vault structures on the lift station site.
4. Furnishing and installation of new controls for Lift Station 5, as noted in the Contract Documents.
5. Furnishing and installation of a new natural gas generator on the lift station site.
6. All pumping of sewage required for the changeover is the responsibility of the Contractor and shall be coordinated with the City ofWoodbury, together with numerous related items of work, all in accordance with Plans and Specifications. A certified check or proposal bond in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount bid, drawn in favor of the City of Woodbury, shall accompany each bid. The City of Woodbury has adopted a standard document entitled Standard Project Manual for Utility and Street Construction, dated January 4, 2019, which includes the Procurement and Contracting Requirements and Specifications which are hereby incorporated into the Bidding Documents. Bidders are required to obtain a copy of this standard document once per year. An electronic copy may be obtained for no charge from the City of Woodbury electronically. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date and time set for the Opening Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in their discretion, the interest of the Owner would be best thereby.
