Saving Project...

Renovation of a power facility in Whale Cove, Nunavut. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a power facility.

Replacement of the existing diesel-powered generator (G1) with new genset (Min. 300 kW continuous rating, 1800 rpm) at the Whale Cove power plant. Scope of work includes but is not limited to: Demolition and removal of the existing generator (G1) and its ancillary/auxiliary equipment; Assessment of existing systems, planning, design and fabrication of new diesel-powered generator and its ancillary/auxiliary equipment; Supply, transportation and delivery of genset and all materials to Whale Cove power plant site; Upgrade control circuits, all other associated electrical devices; Installation of all jacket water and charge air cooler cooling circuits, the exhaust system and support structure, radiator and its support structure, connection to the building heating system and the fuel system, etc. to accommodate the new Genset; Construction/installation, testing and commissioning of new generator and ancillary/auxiliary equipment; Project management, HSE & quality control and risk management. TIMELINE: A Design/Build Request for Proposals for provision of design, manufacture, supply, and installation, testing and commissioning services for the project has closed, however, all submitted pricing were excessively over the available funding and the project was cancelled. It is not known at this time if the project will resume at some future time. Coverage is discontinued. Tender has been cancelled. If/when the project will be re-tendered is undetermined at this time. All Bids Outside Available Funding.
