Demolition, site work and new construction of a transportation facility in El Paso, Texas. Working plans call for the demolition of a transportation facility; for site work for a transportation facility; and for the construction of a transportation facility.
The purpose of the project is to improve the existing local bus service in El Paso along the Montana Street corridor by adding a new bus rapid transit service route. A new enclosed station at the El Paso International Airport (EPIA) will be constructed that will follow the development of the Montana Rapid Transit System (RTS). Due to the project location being at the El Paso International Airport, the Contractor's and subcontractors' personnel that will be on site will require identification tags at all times and adhere to the EPIA security and badging guidelines, processes and procedures, to include background screenings. The station will consist of a climate controlled building, pedestrian lighting, new sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation, and artwork. The Airport RTS project consists of providing all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals to site demolition and construction of the station which includes but not limited to structural, earthwork, grading, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, landscaping, irrigation, roadwork (concrete paving and HMAC paving), and pavement markings. Base Bid I: The construction of the Rapid Transit Stop building and all site improvements except work included in other Base Bids and Alternate(s). Base Bid II:Consists of the installation of two art pieces. Art installation includes all concrete, reinforcement and attachment below the pieces. Installation includes all work, including but not limited to electrical work, in the drawings designated as Base Bid 2. Base Bid III: Consists of all concrete and asphalt roadwork, as and where indicated in the drawings. UBase Bid IV:U Consists of rock wall and concrete cap as and where indicated in the Construction Documents. Additive Alternate I: Includes adding a photo luminescent glass aggregate and providing a polished concrete finish to a select area identified in the Drawings. Base bid material for area indicated is Baumanite (Refer to specification 090000 Schedule of Finish Selections), or approved equal. The Alternate includes providing Schneppa Glass, PolyGlow concrete aggregate or approved equal, with a polished concrete finish, in locations indicated in the drawings. Aggregate shall be added to the concrete at 150 grams per square meter. Aggregate shall be provided with a 50/50 mix of the following colors: Light Moss White (Night Color: Marine) and Creamy Marble White (Night Color: Sky Blue). In case of ambiguity in stating the price proposal, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof or to reject any proposals. Also, the City reserves the right to accept the low bid based on the tabulation of any one, combination or all of the base bid(s), alternate bid(s) and/or, optional bid(s) based on the most advantageous project bid that is desired by the City Department involved and that the City Council in their sole judgment determines is the City's best interest and benefit.
