The objectives for the sanitary sewer mains and manholes rehabilitation are to prevent further structural deterioration, prevent corrosion, prevent root intrusion, prevent/reduce infiltration and improve flow characteristics. This contract requires the use of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) technology for the completion of the sanitary sewer rehabilitation as identified within this document. The method of cure for the CIPP technology is open to any of the following methods; Hot Water, Steam or UV cured
CIPP products. The Proponent shall identify within their submission their intended curing method for executing the project. The CIPP lining will be a tight fit to the inside of the existing sewer and conform closely to the shape of the existing sewer without bridging, gaps, or voids. For the rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer manholes a combination of techniques can be used, to be identified by the Proponent in their proposal. The scope of the 2020 Rehabilitation project includes all necessary design, labour, equipment, and materials required to successfully rehabilitate the sanitary sewer mains and manholes identified and in accordance with the requirements in this document.
In general, this includes the following:
Notifications to the public;
Flow control and/or flow bypass;
Traffic control;
Liaison and other measures for properties connected to the sewer that will be affected by the work;
Confirmation of existing sewer conditions (2018 CCTV inspection and reports provided by Town; see also Section 2.2)
Measuring the size and length of sewers sections to confirm/determine the liner design parameters;
Cleaning and preparation of sewer sections;
CCTV inspection after cleaning and preparation and before lining (OPTIONAL);
Installation and curing of CIPP lining;
Reinstatement of service connections;
CCTV inspection of completed sewer section rehabilitation;
All associated work required in the course of and for the rehabilitation such as overall management including safe work practices and all approval, permissions and necessary permits. Bid value not released for publication.
